Calling All People On Planet E To Become Muslims

Assalamualaikum wbt and peace be upon you,
.
I'd like to take this opportunity to call on everyone to become a Muslim and to embrace Islam. As a Muslim, it's my duty to preach people to Islam because of my love for everyone, and I don't want anyone to rot in the hellfire. Let's embrace Islam and go to paradise together.
.
If you want to embrace Islam, all you have to do is very simple. Just say the syahadah:

"Asy-hadu-alla-ila-ha-il-lallah, wa-asy-hadu-anna-muhammad-ar-rasul-lullah
(There is no god but God(Allah) and Muhammad is the messenger of God).
.
Once you've recited the above sentence, you're already a Muslim. All you have to do is go to the local mosque to register your religion.

Then you must learn to pray, coz a Muslim's first and foremost duty is to pray. Then, be good to your parents, then be good to your family,  your neighbours, and your visitors (well, basically every human being), and to animals and to nature. And you must also have very good character or akhlak.
.
As a Muslim you have to believe in these, or what we call our pillars of faith:
.
1. Believe in God
2. Believe in the angels
3. Believe in the Books that God have sent down to us (the Zabur, Torah, Bible and Al-Quran)
4. Believe in the Prophets
5. Believe in the Day of Judgment
6. Believe in Qada and Qadar ( I don't know the exact translation, I looked it up and it says "pre-destination").

As a Muslim, you must perform these tasks:
.
1. Say the Syahadah
2. Pray 5 times a day
3. Fast in the month of Ramadhan
4. Pay the alms
5. Go to Hajj in Makkah if you are capable.
.
As a Muslim, we have to live within the boundaries set by:

1. The Quran
2. The Hadiths (the sayings of Prophet Muhammad, coz Prophet Muhammad is a messenger of God, so all his sayings are guided by God. He's like, the walking or living al-Quran whose duty is to interpret the laws stated in the Quran and how to apply it in his daily life and the lives of his companions, so that it's easier for us to follow, because he has set an example for us before he died. In fact before he died, when preaching during the Last Hajj, he said, "I've completed the religion for you". Meaning that, his job is done and his time is up. Soon after, Prophet Muhammad died.

Well, that's all. If God were to ask me on the day of Judgment whether I've tried to save my fellow human beings by calling them to Islam, I can now answer in the affirmative and I hope that you would let go of any prejudice and listen to your heart and embrace Islam, insyaallah.

It's Me Again

Assalamualaikum wbt and peace be upon you,

Just an update on myself and my fam.
.
1. Big sis got elected as Chairman of the board of Heads of the Class. Wahaha!
.
2. I got 82% in my Science exam and my teacher gave me a girlie file (pink with pix of teddy bears and hearts. Is she nuts?) to keep my science papers.
.
3. I pestered my mom to help me with my Science questions just now that she just freaked out. She was watching TV and I couldn't find the answer about the function of blood plasma. I asked her several times, and disturbed her, until she freaked out. My mom is always like that. When she does something like reading or watching TV, or does anything, nobody should disturb her coz she's really annoyed when her concentration or focus or whatever is gone. Anyway, what's the function of blood plasma?
.
4. I had hockey lesson today. Hope I won't get selected to play for the school. I don't want my jaw to be struck with a hockey stick by the opponents from the other school. My big sis's friend's teeth went haywire when her friend jammed a baton into her mouth while passing it to her during a relay. And she was such a beautiful girl once. scary man!.
.
5. Lil sis and her friends were laughed at by the bad boys during their nasyid performance last week. Her friend jumped off from the stage with tears running down her cheeks. So uncool. My lil sis however, kept her grin as if nothing happened and held her head high. Bravo lil sis!.
.
I guess that's all for now. I have to research the stupid science questions for tomorrow's class. My mom said, to excel in Science, I have to hold the book wherever I go, anytime, any place. I did it for UPSR and it works. Have to do it again for PMR.

Simple Living Again

Assalamualaikum wbt and peace be upon you,

Actually I'm super bored right now. Watching a rerun of Criminal Minds. My neighbour and his family have left for the UK this evening. My mom went to their farewell lunch. We kids were invited but since lil sister's friends, Syamira and Maisarah were hanging out at our home today, we decided not to go. Not many people went coz today is Saturday and a long holiday due to Maulidur Rasul and Thaipusam later. So most people are outstation except us coz my dad is not around.
.
So, because I'm super bored, I'd like to continue with my list of Simple Living. It's up to you whether you wanna read it or not.
.
1. Use earthenware pots and jars coz my mom says it eliminates heavy metals which are actually free radicals, from our diet. And it's cheap too. Mom use traditional Malay earthenware jars to keep our drinking water cool and earthenware pots which can be bought from Indian shops. And the food will taste nicer too, and my mom will switch off the fire before the food is cooked, coz the pot will retain the heat and it will continue cooking the food even when there's no fire. So you save on cooking gas and cooking time.(Isn't this a very long and detailed explanation?pheww).
.
2. Eat simple so you'll have only simple illness. If your diet is complex, then you'll end up having complex illnesses like cancer and whatnot. Who said this? Our beloved Prophet Muhammad saw of course. Prophet Muhammad saw even taught us to eat like what a pauper in your area eat (meaning don't eat like a king, coz then you'll have various complex illnesses). And to eat local produce,to eat fresh food, and not to mix up certain food when you eat. I'm not so sure about the combination, but it's something like, you shouldn't eat fish with milk, this with that, etc. Maybe you can look up books on this coz there's a lot of books on this topic out there.
.
3. We don't have a medicine cabinet. Maybe you're wondering, what has this got to do with simple living. Well, we lead a simple life that we don't even have a single pill at home. We only have a bottle of gamat (sea cucumber) oil. That's all. Maybe you don't have it in the west but you can research its properties. It heals cuts, itchiness, tooth ache etc. And if we have other illnesses, we'll simply take honey, apple cider vinegar, dates vinegar, pomegranates, black seeds, garlic and stuff like that to cure our illnesses. Basically, we follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. You can read books like "the Prophetic Medicine" etc to find out.
.
4. Mom controls our house water level from the main pipe near the water meter. That way, you can reduce water wastage in your home.
.
5. Mom reduces the amount of stuff in the kitchen so that there's less things to wash everyday. I know coz I help her everyday. You know how we need to wipe and wash our kitchen everyday. I think it's the only place that needs constant wiping and whatnot.
.
6. We look for entertainment at home, not in the shopping complexes etc. My mom says, once you step out of the house, your money will start flying out of your wallet. So, if we want to eat something nice, we'll cook it ourselves at home. If we want to watch a movie which is just out, my dad will buy a dvd from a local shop, if we want to watch a classic movie (coz I'm a big fan of Audrey Hepburn. Guess you all know this already), dad will rent it . We do go out sometimes, but not always coz Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said, "The bazaar (or market place, shopping complexes, or places where people do transactions) is a battle field of the Satans where they put up their flags. So do not be the first to enter it, nor the last to leave it."
.
7. Do not go shopping after the sun has set. This is a Malay belief that if you spend your money after sunset, you'll give your fortune away. Even if you owe someone money, do not repay him in the evening. In short, no monetary transaction in the evening. Maybe you think it's ridiculous, but I personally do not prefer to go shopping in the evening. Maybe it'll stress you out after you realize that you wallet is getting thinner, and then you'll end up having difficulty in sleeping. Maybe you'll overspend if you go in the evening coz you can't think as clear as in the morning. Maybe you'll become forgetful and lose you money, misplace you wallet etc. Maybe the stuff you bought look nice in the evening because of the lights, but when you look at it again in the morning under the natural light, it looked horrible, etc. I don't know the reason behind this, but I do think it's good to shop when your mind is clear and your mental state is sound.
.
8. Gosh, it's so hard to get to number 10. What else emmmm!!ok, only buy clothes that don't have to be dry cleaned. It's such a hassle and a waste of your money don't you think. And to think that they use chemical to wash you clothes, yucks! and it's not always clean too. Like, my dad has to send his winter jackets to the dry cleaners, and my mom would always ask him, "Can i rewash your down using body soap (coz body soap gets rid of stains) on this area?". And my dad would say, "No, never mind" (as usual!), and my mom would become upset, coz she said she'd want my dad to look the best coz it shows that she has been taking good care of him. My mom is always afraid if my dad looks shabby or unkempt, coz she said it means that she's a sloppy wife etc. Whatever!!!!!My dad, on the other hand, couldn't care less.
.
9. DIY. yes, DO IT YOURSELF! Whatever projects that you want to undertake, do it yourself. If you don't have the expertise, hire someone who does, but you can be his helper. So you'll save on paying an extra hand and you can learn something from him too. My dad always does this.
.
10. Save your weekly or monthly allowance. I save on my allowance everyday by taking food and drink from home. All of us take a litre of water to school everyday. But I've asked my mom whether I can bring 2 litres of water and she said yes. I feel more fresh and I can do my maths much more better when I drink more water. But my mom says 2 litres is the max. We also bring food from home. My mom would cook the night before and prepare our lunch boxes, so that it's ready in the morning. My dad also brings his lunch box sometimes. If mom doesn't prepare our lunch boxes, she'll make sure we take at least a packet consisting of 3 dates to school.
.
11. Fast. My dad fasts every Monday and Thursday. We haven't started the routine this year. My mom hasn't because she's not quite well and she has to take a drink if she coughs. But basically, fasting saves you money, makes you lean and light and stabilize you emotion (like my dad. You just don't freak out like a person who doesn't fast. You'll just stay calm and cool when something happen).
.
Well, I think that's more than enough for tonight.
.
Have a happy day!

Peace
Daniel Zaydi

Today Is Maulidur Rasul

Assalamualaikum wbt and peace be upon you,
.
Today is a public holiday because it's the birthday of our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. My sisters joined the procession to celebrate this remarkable day this morning. They gave salawat to Prophet Muhammad s.a.w all the way to the mosque. I, on the other hand, had decided to stay home to accompany my mom because she was alone at home. So today, I helped her clean her car, mop the floor and tidy up the deck. My dad is in Turkey now. I hope he is having a good time there. I'm sure he also made salawat with his jamaah in the bus all the way to Pammukale as my mom had texted him to remind of this auspicious day.
.
This evening my mom and I went to the musolla to recite the Suratul Yaasin and to make dua for our neighbour who is leaving with his family to the United Kingdom to do his Phd. We all prayed that he is going to succeed in his studies and he and his family will be protected by Allah and Allah will safegurd their Iman while they are in a foreign land. This neighbour lives 2 doors away from our house. They will leave this Saturday. They however, couldn't attend the prayer at the musolla because they were so busy arranging for their departure. They had asked my mom to invite people on their behalf to attend the prayer and dua.So, even though it was raining hard, my mom and I had to brave the heavy rain with umbrellas in our hands.
.
When we came home, all of us watched the TV al-Hijrah which has the best programmes about Maulidur Rasul. I particularly like the teaching of Imam Webb from UIAM. I wonder how a person like him, who is not born a Muslim, can become very knowledgeable about this religion in such a short period of time. I feel so jealous of him, because I'm not only born a Muslim but I also live in an Islamic country, I went to Islamic school for 6 years, but I don't really know anything about Islam except on what my daily practice is.There is still so much to learn and to understand, that it terrifies me. I pray that Allah will guide me all the way on the right path, ameen.
.
Tomorrow we will celebrate Maulidur Rasul at our school. We don't have to wear uniform yeay!. My lil sis and her friends will perform the nasyid and she is the lead singer. They will wear my mom's garments for the performance. Maybe big sis will recite the Quran for the occasion (as usual!) I'll just wear my green Baju Melayu (we guys are not fussy on what to wear!). Can't wait to see tomorrow's fashion show (all the girls must be freakin mad right now. I know coz both my sisters have been trying on their clothes in front of the mirror for ages, trying to look their best for tomorrow :p).
.
hokay, that's all for now.
.

Today's School and at Home

Assalamualaikum wbt and peace be upon you,
.
Today was a busy day at my school. This is because all From 1,2 and 3 parents came to collect the RM100 that the government has distributed to each student. So the teachers were quite busy with the parents and we were also quite busy looking for our parents hehe.
.
My mom came to collect for my lil sister and I. After school, I went home with my mom instead of on the school van. My friend, Atikah also came with us. She always tumpang us whenever she can. We didn't go straight home. My mom took us to Carrefour to pay the internet bill. Then we went home to pick up big sis who came home on the school van, and then all of us went off to lunch at the As-Subuh mamak restaurant (coz my mom didn't cook coz she had to go to school).
.
This evening, my mom had started teaching al-Quran to the little kids again. But not many came coz my mom has delegated the teaching to an Ustaz at our musolla. My mom said she did this to ensure that there's always some activities going on at the musolla, and to make the children love to go there.A neighbour came this afternoon to collect some electrical wires and he asked my mom to be in the committee of the musolla but I heard my mom said she declined to have any position.
.
My dad, my mom and I went to pray Isya Jamaah at the musolla together. Alas, we were late due to the rain and the jamaah prayer had finished. However, we managed to catch the tazkirah that was always going on every Monday.
.
After that, I went up to my room to finish off my room makeover project. I managed to light up the colourful light bulbs that I bought at the Penang night market (which I went during the hols, I you've read my previous post on "the Year end Getaway ..) and my room looks so yummy now that my lil sis has started lepaking in my room :(
.

Well, that's basically what happened in my life today.
.
Tomorrow, my dad is going overseas and my house will definitely feel less cheerful. I don't like it when my dad has to go away coz my home will feel empty and incomplete.
.
Peace and love

2013 Declutter

Assalamualaikum wbt and peace be upon you,

Hi guys. How's your life so far? I've been having some ups and downs lately.
.
A couple of days ago, I helped my mom to put into the charity box a CAR load of stuff from our home. That's a big load, consisting of clothes, souvenirs, shoes and whatnots. We also sold off papers, plastic containers and metals to a scrap metal shop and got a few bucks out of it. However, there's still stuff nest to our main door waiting to be taken out of the house. You see, it's very very difficult actually to declutter. Sometimes we moved the things out to the porch and there it got stuck for ages, before my mom finally had the courage to get rid of them.
.
I told you about having some ups and downs. The down side was quite dramatic actually. My big sis and I got some spankings on our buttocks yesterday by my mom. The reason being, my big sis used my dad's phone to twit her friends and forgot to log out. The next day, dad got an sms saying that his usage is at over RM600 (USD200) and his phone has been barred. My dad hasn't spoken to us since coz he's very very mad. My mom however, hasn't stop talking, and even though I didn't use the phone, I'm considered an accomplice coz I knew that my big sis was twittering, and we both have sore butts as for now. RM600 is HUGE man. We could go for a nice holiday with that amount of money. I can understand why my mom was very upset.
.
Since the incident, we are not allowed any TV or facebooking or twittering. Now all the three of us have to stay in the small room downstairs to do our homework right after dinner and then straight off to sleep. My mom says the small room helps us to stay focus when studying. Actually my mom is also very upset with big sis who purposely failed her Add Maths and Chemistry papers during the last term coz she hated the teacher. My big sis also got some extra spanking on the butt due to this.
.
Well, this is a memorable episode of 2013 for me. Now we are short of RM600 due to my sis's stupid mistake and I do hope she has learnt her lesson.
.
What is so good in twittering nonsense? Now, I really really hate Facebook and Twitter.
.

First Week of 2013

Assalamualaikum wbt and peace be upon you,
.
Hi everyone. How's your first week of 2013 so far? Mine has been fab. I managed to wake up early no matter how late I went to sleep every night. Today my big sis missed the school van. Dad had to send her to school. We have been coming home late lately due to extracurricular activities and additional classes held by our teachers specially for exam year students like my big sis and I. Being a prefect is also taking a lot of my time. I've only like 5 minutes for recess. Morning classes are quite hectic compared to evening classes which are more laid back. So every day I go home feeling totally exhausted.
.
My big sis got elected as head of her class again this year. Both my big sis and lil sis are smart. They didn't want to become prefects coz they know how exhausted it is. We have to stand for an hour during gathering and leave class early to do our duties, I do feel like I want to quit sometimes, but since my parents have bought me the uniform, I feel kinda guilty to quit.
.
As I'm now in morning session, I'm no longer the President of the Art Society coz all the important positions are held by seniors. My big and lil sis are so busy with their new or existing positions as President, Vice President, Secretary and whatnot. I DON'T HAVE any positions this year haha (don't tell my mom!!!) coz I've learnt my lessons. I was so busy with various positions last year, most of it did not interest me at all actually (coz I was elected, it wasn't voluntary you see), that this year I've made sure that I'm not elected at all. What's my strategy? Simple. Keep quiet. I've been keeping quiet in classes and I sit next to no one. Everyone says I've changed. Maybe I have. Maybe I've just grown up.
.
Tonight was Yaasin recitation night at our musolla. I recited the Yaasin for my late brother. Hope he'll rest in peace in the Barzah. We (the jumaah) also prayed solatul hajat for my mom who has been ill for a few weeks. Alhamdulillah my mom is slowly recovering. However, she is still unable to teach the children the Quran. Maybe by next week, everything will go back to normal.
.
Since my mom has partly recovered from her illness, she has been busy tidying up our small garden today which was left unattended since she was ill. I helped her to cut the bamboo tree, and other trees which I don't know their names. Our house looks much more airy and light now I just love the feeling. (it's the same feeling when we first moved into this house, when there's nothing planted in the ground yet).
.
Actually I don't know why, but all my neighbours in our street have been pruning their gardens. They even called up MPSJ to cut off the tall trees like the looming pine trees and whatnot. So the whole street seems different now (it looks trim and neat like a fresh new haircut).
.
I guess I don't have much to tell you. So that's all for now. Hoping that this week's momentum will continue.
.
Love and peace

Happy New Year Everyone :)

Assalamualaikum wbt and peace be upon you,
.
Happy New Year! Happy New Year! Happy Happy Happy New Year Everyone :)
.
How's your new year? How did you celebrate it? So, what's your goal for this year?
.
As for me, I've already had my new Islamic Year resolution which I shared with you, and thank God, I'm making progress. I've complaint less, I'm more determined to work hard this year and appreciate all that God has given me to the fullest. So far, since I wrote about "heaven in my heart", I've not become stressful or angry with anyone.
.
I've started my Form 3 a couple of days ago. have to wake up early to go to school with big sis. Every single thing has to be prepared at night like doing my homework, iron my clothes and read for tomorrow's classes. I come home at 2 p.m every day and it is really much more better than afternoon school because I've more time to relax in the evening. I don't watch so much TV since I go to morning school. Just don't have the appetite. this is the time when we have to pay so many school fees. Luckily the government is giving each school student RM100 to pay the school fees. So, there's less burden on my dad for the three of us.
.
I don't buy new exercise books. Actually it's compulsory to get new books for the new term but my mom said I should just continue with my last year's books since a lot of them still have many blank pages. It's also good for me to make reference to last year's studies. My lil sis's teacher however didn't allow her to do it. But my mom being my mom, she wouldn't take no for an answer. Coz she said it's a waste. So my lil sis had to cover her books with brown paper and tear off last year's pages.
.
Year End Getaway Update

I want to share with you about our year end getaway coz I think many of you out there must be wondering how it turned out. Actually, it didn't exactly turn out as planned. We skipped staying in Kuantan coz we found that there's nothing much there. Teluk Cempedak was crowded coz of the coming Xmas hol. So dad drove to Cherating. But we couldn't get a room coz all was fully booked. Then we moved on to Awana Kijal. Still no luck, until we reached Dungun at 12 midnight. We tried the Mayang Sari International Resort at Teluk Lipat (Lipat Bay). We were told it was also full house, but when we were about to leave, the guard told us there's a cancelled booking so we got a small room to sleep for the night at RM90. It had started raining hard already (meaning that the monsoon season had started. The sea was tumultuous and the wind was wailing).
.
The next day my dad decided not to have breakfast in the hotel even though we received two complimentary breakfast. So we headed for the beach where traditional breakfast was sold by the roadside. We had nasi kerabu and keropok lekor of course and the rain never stopped. At 12 afternoon, we moved on to Kuala Terengganu. Right after we left Dungun, we heard on the news that it had flooded there. We stayed in Kuala Terengganu for 2 days 1 night. My dad paid the hotel for 2 nights but my mom couldn't wait to get out of there because of the heavy rain. We stayed in a hotel in Seberang Takir and our room is the nearest to the sea. The wind was so hard that it pounded on our door as if someone kept knocking it. We didn't even do any shopping coz of the weather. We went to the museum and visited my dad's friend.
.
My dad took the middle road to Kelantan and we got stuck in Bandar Permaisuri, Setiu at 6 pm. The flood water had crossed the street making us stuck in the middle. We checked out the flood evacuation centre but there's not enough facility for flood victims, all the hotels were occupied so we ended up sleeping in the car. My dad slept in the bus station while my mom called the the police station every single hour to get updates on whether the flood water had receded or not.At 4.30 a.m my mom woke up my dad to perform solatul hajat and solatul tahajud to pray that the flood would recede so we could move on. Thank God, after the Fajar prayer, the military allowed us to move on and we continued our journey to Kota Bharu.(and the rain had stopped).
.
We reached KB in the morning and everything was still closed so we had breakfast with dad's friend and moved on to Machang where my dad visited his other friends. At 3 pm we journeyed to the East West Highway where I took picture at the highest point of the Titiwangsa Range.
.
We reached my grandparents' house in Penang at almost midnight. The next day we spent hours in Penang Island, eating and browsing the night market. That's where I spent the allowance that my mom gave me. I think Penang still has the best attraction when it comes to holidays. We stayed for a couple of days and visited my lil bro's grave. Then we travelled to Sri Majung in Perak to spend 2 days at my dad's cousin's place. We picnic by the beach and swam in the sea at Teluk Batik. At night we rode tandem bikes by the sea together with our second cousin and we also went shopping at the big Aeon Mall which had just opened there. That's our final destination before heading home and the end of our year end holidays for 2012.
 .
Peace
Daniel Zaydi
